Human beings are rational beings who adore to reason- to feel, to reflect and to imagine. If you think, therefore, you exist. In your survival for living, you do not confine and impound yourself in a box; you make use of your potentials to the fullest. Hence, you meet people, you speak and exchange a few words, and, in due course, you live your life simply remarkable. That’s what the label this yearbook speaks about. “Cogito ergo sum” is a Latin word which means “I think, therefore, I am”.
Being referred to as highly intellectual animals, everyone in the world is interconnected through social networks- environment, media and people themselves. Thus, people have optimized socialization because of the innate God- given gift to discover, uncover and recover, which I hope still maximize in accordance with His will.
Social Networking.
As social beings, we extend our borders beyond our expectations through socializing by all means. Letters, telegrams, pagers, fax machines, mobile phones, computers, internet and the like have been casually exploited throughout the years of development in Sciences and Technology. This inevitable rise of up-to-the-minute gadgets becomes a necessity (to most elite persons) which has greatly benefited the people’s way of living. In fact, most of today’s young ones are admittedly in love with the fame of many social networking sites which appear in different features, all created and fashioned to connect people worldwide in a wink of an eye.
At the same time, Filipinos have widely used the trendiest and well-liked website, the Facebook which is owned, operated and maintained by a Mark Zuckerberg. Many considered this as a new means of having constant communication to old and new found friends regardless of your status in life. With the advent of this fad, the editorial board conceptualizes a creative package to bring out the finest for the Davao Reef Yearbook 2011.
The Yearbook Theme.
Creativity is just one step forward to reality. The idea to integrate the infamous social networking: Facebook to the Davao Reef Yearbook 2011 concept, the editorial board designs a way to at least present a close- to- reality theme since it would be much appreciative to have a replication of what is genuine. This yearbook showcases the different Davao del Norte State College Graduates’ diverse personalities through the captured images. It further presents the true essence of their true beauty. This also underscores the individuality and uniqueness of graduates in all facets of their lives.
As time fades away, everyone will forget each one. But through this yearbook, each graduate will be remembered through the confident exposé of factual personal information. Hence, this Yearbook with the sticky tag:”Cogito ergo sum” which is themed social networking means lifetime remembering.
