The Recognition Rites Davao del Norte State CollegeMarch 31, 2011
To our College President, Dr. Jonathan A. Bayogan, to our former president, Dr. Edgardo M. Santos, BOT members present, management team, teachers, administrative staff, non- teaching staff and personnel, distinguished guests and visitors, honored parents, students, and dear 2011 graduating class, a momentous morning!
In behalf of the Graduating Class 2011, I welcome everyone to this awaited moment of our lives. This day gives a colorful meaning to the sacrifices and efforts of those who have been part of each graduates’ journey towards acquiring the collegiate degree. And so with others who are doing best for their schooling.
Davao del Norte State College always sees to it that its graduates will become highly competent and versatile professionals, technologists, and technicians who will take proactive leadership roles in the society since the graduates’ performance outside will turn out to be the mirror of quality education the school has provided. Likewise, the institution creates an emblem of quality education and establishes a culture of excellence. That’s why I’m proud to be standing here.
This ceremony provides honor and glory to our parents who were always there to guide us in our education. We could not reach this summit of our education without them because they serve as our strength when we are weak, our light when we are gloomy, and our hope when we are doomed. You never cease to leave us despite the struggles you have bumped into just to let us standing still. Hugs and kisses to you our dear parents!
Graduation is also a passage of time where we recognize our mentors who constantly taught us the knowledge we hunger for, the necessary skills we have to acquire and the proper values we need. We will be forever grateful because you’ve been part of our success. Of course, we couldn’t just forget those who were there during the hardest times of our stay in this institution, my apology if I can’t name you all. Rest assured that your help will go a long way in our lives.
This day isn’t really the end of our education because we’re just about to take the big step of our lives towards new learning experiences which come in different packages, all made to mold us to become stronger for the challenges ahead. Let’s also remember that the measure of learning does not depend on the awards or recognition we receive, but it’s on how we make use of our potentials to be worth rewarding for. With our pursuit of brilliance, we continue to educate ourselves even after formal education to become fully human.
As this ceremony advances, we come to think of the special days we have experienced in this institution, the most memorable days we’ve gone through which will remain forever in our hearts. This special day concludes our four, five or more years of stay in this academic institution.
But more of these, we thank the powerful Almighty Father for the gift of Wisdom and His Divine Providence all throughout the long years of education because without Him our existence would be meaningless.
This day forward, we will be bidding goodbye from pampering environment of the school for the reason that we will be left on our own after graduation- making tough decisions to reach the peak of our hopes and dreams.
Finally, I will leave you a short yet meaningful statement from a rising star of today’s generation. “Never say Never.”http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150186230098455
